About

The Association of Real Estate Agents (AREA) was established in 1990 in consultation with the Ontario Real Estate Association, and has evolved into a nationally recognised, self-regulating, organisation leading the Real Estate Industry and its related fields to an international level of performance and professionalism.

In 2012, the Association was Incorporated by Act 12 of 2012 enhancing its national recognition as the self-regulatory body in the continuing absence of legislation.   AREA’s vision is to promote fair standards to buyers, sellers and real estate agents, and increase the level of networking and co-operation between competing agents. 

AREA also works to promote the interests of the real estate industry to the government and the public.

AREA will promote growth and professional excellence in individual member Agents through education, business and innovation opportunities within the framework of a newly regulated real estate industry, while offering public education, industry advocacy and collaboration with other professional stakeholders in the sector.

Establish an accurate database of real estate transactions to assist both governmental and private bodies in accurate research and projection of real estate activity.

VISION STATEMENT

By achieving these ideals, our market will become a model of efficiency, swiftly responding to the ever-evolving demands of our economy. This will empower buyers and sellers to make informed decisions, maximizing their investments and fostering a thriving marketplace. Moreover, Trinidad and Tobago will emerge as a regional beacon, inspiring emulation among Caribbean nations and earning the recognition of developed countries worldwide.
